Thank you. I just felt totally out of place when I saw these students wearing complete suits and I did not have a blazer, just a blouse and suit pants. Took me an hour last night to research business casual...

I actually have a wedding coming up and the dress is "business casual". I also had to look it up to see exactly what business casual was. It feels weird to go to a wedding and not wear a suit, etc but ya don't want to be "that guy" that wore a suit to a business casual event!!!
Forgot to read the invitation, they did. Dress appropriately, they did not.

I am applying to a summer job and the inverviewer who I talked to said it will be a group interview, business casual. Is it a bad idea if I wear a suit to stand out?
If it says business casual you should wear business casual. Wear a blazer over an oxford with slacks... You could also wear a casual looking suit without a tie...

I would go with a suit and no tie. Keep the tie in your pocket, just in case
So, before you even get an offer, you are already ignoring your potential future employer's requests? Just want to make sure I understand where you're coming from.
Navy blazer, chinos, sperrys, bright colored socks, no undershirt, polo oxford (note: must be polo). Shotgun a couple beers before the interview and pack a fatty during the interview to set you apart.
Sperrys with socks? GDI.
Of course its a bad idea. You will definitely stand out, negatively. Do as told wear biz cas.
