dropping a math class. *need some advice*

I'm currently a freshman, second semester just started last week.

A week into it now, i'm thinking about dropping my calculus class. it's a full year course. It was the only class that messed my gpa up last semester. I received a C+, the finals fucked me over. Had it not been for that class my lowest grade would have been a B+.

Now my real question is, I'm in the process of transferring, would it hurt if i drop my calculus class and maybe pick up an entrepreneurship class or maybe an econ class? because from the way that class has been going, I can just tell it might be the one class that messes me over again this semester. keeping in mind that i'm looking to transfer will it matter much if i drop the course?

All comments and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

GPA's are not transferable and if you are in the "process" of transferring, this springs GPA will mean nothing. Furthermore, they will transfer the course if it is a core calc course but might not transfer the entrepreneurship one. So, I would not drop.

check out ur schools academic advisor. at my uni there is a first year forgiveness program, where a mark is dropped exactly for the reasons you mentioned ( also just because you're a freshman). ask them about giving you the money too, i wish i heard about it when i was a freshman.

You need to study....If you think you are smart enough to beat out numerous other students for a banking job, this is the time to prove it and score an A. Study!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If you're already accepted into the other university or think you'll get in then just stick it through so you don't have to take it at your new school and have it effect your new GPA

wadtkKids with C's in calculus are huge red flags.

That's exactly what my thought was, and i'd hate to have that be a reason for not receiving looks.

I'm not the one to make excuses but I would really rather protect my gpa now and maybe take the summer course rather then risking it now. I spoke to my advisor and a few friends and I think dropping the course is pretty much what i'm leaning towards.
