Environments with people with the most diverse (life experience) backgrounds.

Just watched a Stephen Schwarzman on The David Rubenstein Show.

Apparently Schwarzman decided to join Lehman after his MBA because he thought it was the most interesting place with ex-CIA people, people who used to work at oil rigs, etc...

What environment is the closest nowadays?

How can you say that with certainty? Have you interacted with real innovators? They always have something unique about them.

I gave you MS because I think you're wrong. I think you're looking at people who call themselves innovators but are really just making marginal improvements.

Really innovative industries are the nascent ones with really small communities. And real innovators don't go around telling people they're innovators. They go around showing people their ideas and trying to figure out a way to excite others. They're often in the strangest of places.

Yeah I met the head of Innovation at a major tech company. We had a 30min meeting and sheer brilliance rolled off this guy. We were looking at rolling out a new innovative product and his feedback was legendary. He was one of the few SVPs at the company and was ranked the #2 guy under the CEO.
