Equity Crowdfunding: how to evaluate the target

Dear monkeys,

does anyone here have experience in equity crowdfunding (not RE) from the investor side? How do you proceed to evaluate your potential investments? How would your investment process look like, outside the obvious steps of identifying the revenue drivers, the competitive positioning, decision making of management etc. As a lot of those companies are startups track-record and financials might be limited, therefore what should one focus on?

Thanks in advance for your insights!
