Excel Help Please - so frustrated
I've been using the same formula for years, but it has decided not to work today for some odd reason. Is it a setting issue on excel? (using 2010 excel).
=if(iserror(vlookup (A2,data!A:C,3,false)),"",vlookup(A2,data!A:C,3,false))
The issue is that the "A2" in the first argument and the "A2" in the second argument are different, so I am getting a circular reference. Shouldn't the "A2" reference the original sheet in both arguments?
(I know there is a iferror and some other formula possible, but just frustrated as to why this doesn't work)
Thanks.
your table array and column index number make no sense
Not sure I follow here, but you can define which sheet the "lookup_value" is referencing (even if its active sheet) to ensure that you're referencing the correct cell. Also, try: =iferror(vlookup(...),"") simpler syntax for same formula
Sorry if I missed the point but please provide a bit more detail if so
