Gavin Newsom to Remain CA Governor According to CNN & NYT

Pretty expected result here. Gavin won the original 2018 election with over 60% of the vote and very high turnout, so he clearly had a mandate. I think people in general are certainly feeling better about COVID-19 than when the recall talks began. I also don't think there's the voter interest in kicking out a governor that's already served 3 years; most people would have preferred to wait to 2022, regardless of political party. This is ultimately a lottery ticket for the Republicans that didn't pay off. Interested in the forum's thoughts.

Also imagine checking BOTH CNN and the NYT. It's like you don't know that lib ''journalists'' cock suck each other all day on twitter, hence repeate what the other is saying, very often without checking what actually is happening. Covington kids, Jussie Smollet etc..

Less than 10% of Americans use unironically wording like ''assigned male'' ''non- binary'' and ''inclusive'' and they all belong to the woke cult.

Do I try to be good to people? Yes.

Am I a liberal? No.

Is Chesa Boudin a disastrous prosecutor who does many of the things he does because the criminal justice system separated him from his left-wing terrorist parents? Yes.

Once you really think about the fact that there are intersex people and people with different sex chromosomes other than just the two most common types, you realize that dichotomies aren't everything. Inclusivity is one of many ideals, and it's not necessarily a political one. When people are ostracized, it leads to all sorts of bad things. Is the word "inclusive" more commonly used by people of a particular political persuasion? Yes. But inclusivity is hardly a bad thing as a general principle.

Most Helpful

Except that's not inclusive, it simple puts the preferences of specific groups ahead of that of others, very often with a malicious intent of punishing the latter.

The trans-women discussion not only results in biological women being physically battered and humiliated by... mentally ill men, but also outright erases womanhood by using terms like ''birthing people'' or whatever the current wording for having a period is. Those are specific traits of womanhood, if to include trans-women you have to erase women, then it's clearly a bad thing.

Similarly, ''diversity and inclusion'' initiatives never include a specific combination of skin colour, genitalia and sexual preferences, but exist to outright excude them or reduce their numbers, which reveals their pernicious intent.

This is not about being respectful, at all. These are hate driven.

Just wait prosecutors and judges fix that mistake. We know how justice works when libs are in charge.

See above. The liberal moron threw away 31 bn already by being scammed, not in the position to lecture anyone about anything related to wasting money.

Serious question for you neink. Why are you so invested in American politics despite living abroad? I understand everyone taking interest in our presidential elections, but it seems highly unusual that foreigners would be so engrossed in state level, off-cycle politics. Are you just passionate about politics? Concerned that trends here will spread to your part of Europe? No snark intended, just curious.

"I don't know how to explain to you that you should care about other people."

Alt-Ctr-Left

$250+ million of taxpayer money wasted on this useless recall that could have been spent on??

The recall provision was included by the CA legislature, which is democrat dominated. For what it's worth the recall actually had split popularity until Elder became the prominent contender. Even for me leaning conservative that guy is a bit too far to the right for me to swallow. I will give him credit for already conceding though - at least he took the loss like a man. Would have hoped Paffrath or Faulconer gained more momentum on the ticket but oh well.
