Gentlemen I am at a loss, is Obama a bad guy?

You all seem to be a financially knowledgeable bunch, I'd assume (I've been here a day, some of you are super smart some of you are super douches, such as you would find in any society or collection of folk).

Is Obama really as economically destructive as Rupert Murdoch's front for the legion of doom make him out to be? I'll tell you where I'm coming from, I'm a financially and almost economically ignorant 19 year old whose never had a non-summer job. I'm a social liberal from a conservative house hold so fox is a frequent guest on my television screen. Now being as economically ignorant as I am (which is something I hope to fix by participating in this illustrious shit flinging forum), this is something I find hard to make a decision on considering I know next to nothing of it. Are Obama's policies really hurting us or are they helping us?

The FED's policies are hurting us. Obama is a puppet just like Bush was. The difference between Obama and Bush? Well Obama is about 10x more socialist and would most likely welcome a collapse of the economy in his second term so that he could implement whatever policies he wants. As Rahm Emanuel said "never let a crises go to waste!"

The bank/person who prints and coins the money of a nation is the ultimate power and string puller aka the FED.

I did not like a lot of what Bush did but I absolutely loathe Obama and how he thinks. He is a great salesman though.

The way I see it, both Democrats and Republicans are going in the same direction but the Democrats are on a supersonic jet and the republicans are in a twin engine cessna.

Here is the thing, you have no idea what socialism is (and neither does the tea party). The whole Fox News crowd is rallied around ideas that have been put forth using misleading and ultimately false information. Taxes are at an all time low and Obama has lowered taxes for the vast majority of Americans, how the hell is this socialism?

In all seriousness, economics in one lesson is a good book to start with. It avoids jargon and is easy for a non-economics oriented person to understand.

Any bets as to what category of a shitstorm this is going to be?

ProdigyOfZenif you are trolling good job!

That was a dick response from myself, sorry man. Thought first post and second post were two separate people. Thanks for the opinion, sorry for the mix-up.

The unyielding avarice of wealthy people (who just so happen to be disproportionately conservative) are what is behind the American Killing Machine. I guess if I had to point to point you in the direction of a short piece of literature to read and then develop your own opinion, Henry Hazlitt; Economics in 1 Lesson. If I had to say are Obama's policies helping or hurting us, I would say they are hurting us because they aren't doing shit. The ultra wealthy still don't want to pay a damn thing for taxes, they don't want everyone to have a "right" to healthcare funded by their non-existent tax dollars, they want to destroy basic entitlements (Medicare) because half of this country doesnt give a shit about caring for our elderly, and they want your cheap labor so they can continue to grow filthy rich on your slave labor. Have a great weekend.

DISCLAIMER: I'm pro Obama b/c there's not a better option on the opposing side.
