Google just announced that they're giving away their sought-after Google Voice application to students with email addresses ending in .edu. If you qualify, go here to get yours:
http://www.google.com/googlevoice/students.html
This can really simplify your life by giving you one number for all your contacts. You're welcome.
Thanks for the post, i'm sure this will help those who will actually click on the link and browse through the benefits of using Google voice. I started using Google voice about 6 months back, great gig. (Specially the call screening) Once again, thank you.
Thanks! This looks pretty cool.
Yeah I've started using it in earnest about a week ago - it's invaluable - it's like Gmail for Phone
It doesn't work for Canadian students since our emails end in ".ca" rather than ".edu"
I guess I have to wait a bit longer...
Don't know much about it but it seems like something i should look into. thanks!
i have been using my google voice number for about a year now and love it. highly recommended
.
You can call any US number for free with GV, and make very cheap international calls (similar pricing to Skype or Jajah)
And Google transcribes your voice mail to text, and organize them just like Gmail organizes your emails. And free text messages.
Does not work for an IP outside the US :'(
Yea I just got it and its pretty cool. You can send SMS via the web real easy as well. It's biggest use is when you have multiple lines, but it's fun for only one as well. I also tried the whole Google Wave thing and couldn't get into it.
Thanks Edmundo, this seems great, especially the calling canada for free part
