Yeah I've started using it in earnest about a week ago - it's invaluable - it's like Gmail for Phone
It doesn't work for Canadian students since our emails end in ".ca" rather than ".edu"
I guess I have to wait a bit longer...

You can call any US number for free with GV, and make very cheap international calls (similar pricing to Skype or Jajah)
And Google transcribes your voice mail to text, and organize them just like Gmail organizes your emails. And free text messages.
Does not work for an IP outside the US :'(
Yea I just got it and its pretty cool. You can send SMS via the web real easy as well. It's biggest use is when you have multiple lines, but it's fun for only one as well. I also tried the whole Google Wave thing and couldn't get into it.
