Graduate seeking currency trading/hedge fund position

Hi everyone,

I am a business school graduate trying to break into the world of finance, and I do not have any experience in the industry yet. My current position as a personal assistant to a hedge fund founder has struck a new interest: the currency market. My boss's firm is not looking for analysts or any entry-level positions. I am looking to break into a hedge fund or some other firm to learn the ins and outs of currency trading (I plan on starting my own portfolio once I become more educated.)

I was wondering if anyone had any advice about breaking into a hedge fund without any prior experience. My understanding is I should try to obtain an analyst job somewhere first. I have applied to several analyst jobs at large corporations with no luck. I think the fact that I lack office experience is also hurting my chances to landing a position in finance.

Any suggestions or references would be much appreciated!

Thank you.
