I always liked the weddings I went to where we could stay at a golf course and be able to play. On a golf club’s venue/not during college football season is all I could care about, rest can be up to her.

Then her dad better be paying for it - riiiight - isn’t that tradition?

Jon - Some of the wedding’s I’ve been to at golf clubs are WAY more than over the top. Just depends what place you choose and how much you want to spend.

Koot- Yeah that’s what got me started and the best part about it to me. Then again, I dont mind playing all day by myself, it’s just nice to be out there and away from everything. I’ve grown to enjoy the weekly money games or club tournaments a lot also. it’s just a fun way to kick the shit, compete, and drink lol

I'm interested... want to hear more about it

Destination wedding on a beach somewhere - where the guests can fuck off at the all inclusive bar or beach/excursions all day and just show up for the 2 hour ceremony / reception

my buddy did a destination wedding and it’s surprisingly affordable, 10-15k

married in courthouse, highly recommend

1. weddings have become an instagram phenomenon, no longer a religious ceremony

2. I don't believe in correlation but it's interesting that there seems to be a relationship between paying more for a wedding and higher divorce rate

3. if you want to get drunk with friends, just have a 25 person bachelor party like I did, way more fun than any wedding I've ever been to, and cheaper

4. destination weddings are a dick move, just have a baller honeymoon

5. a wedding is one day in the context of a lifelong commitment, think about that instead of arguing over centerpieces or the mother of the brides dress or other bullshit

I've been to a lot of weddings in many places around the country (first destination one coming up soon which I abhor), I've never once thought "this seems like a good idea" but rather "this seems like an expensive party for the parents that virtually nobody will remember"

1. Weddings are a religious ceremony for many

Having been to many, my favorite was actually the smallest.  Nice restaurant's back patio, we went bar hopping afterwards.  I hear it was $5k all in.  No the parents didn't pay.

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.

Cool
