Handmaids Tale

People acting like this show is some statement about why we need to protect liberties and never let "crazy" people run the country. In reality, shouldn't this show must be called Real Housewives in the Molenbeek?

Seriously though...how is this different from Sharia Law and how many women/gays are treated in Muslim countries?

Peeps acting like this is some big statement.

George_Banker we live in a privileged society where even Joe Blow or Sad Sally's problems pale in comparison to those experienced by people in places like Burkina Faso, Eritrea, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, etc. The reason this show is being used in political messaging is obvious.

Pro-choice supporters, feminists, and even those just mad or upset that someone like Donald Trump could beat out a woman to become President...they need something to channel their anger or are desperately grasping at straws to make an ill fated attempt at "warning" others of what is to come.

Donald Trump is the last person on this planet to ever advocate for a system of government like that depicted in this work of fiction (despite the author drawing on examples of the real world which I haven't seen or heard about since the book was written in the 1980s and much has changed).

America has a system of government in place and a Constitution that has stood the test of time. Contrast this with a country like Pakistan that has been in existence for 70 years and has updated, canceled, and revised its constitution literally every year.

The point I'm trying to get at is because we have so few "real world problems" or at least according to the likes of CNN we have people who take up causes such as the Bathroom Bill as if its the equivalent of child marriage.

My question to all the clowns who wear handmaid costumes in protest (very ironic since in a world such as Gillead they would be forced to be handmaid's) where the fuck were you when that girl was raped by football players in Ohio? Where were the massive protests? If Hillary was such a qualified candidate why did you go crazy for Obama, a man?

If the above sound incoherent its fucking Monday. Good show BTW and one I recommend.
