Has anyone heard of this situation? Advice?
So I got hired freshman summer into a decent company. Role only has some relation to business but its a very well-known name(not prestigious exactly but definitely known) , so will be a good launchpad for future internships.
However most of the other interns were in like 3rd/4th year, so I was the youngest, and compared to them didn't have relevant experience, so thought I was lucky to get hired.
So I was talking to a Senior on our team- said they saw all sorts of wonderful things/experiences when hiring... but the reason manager hiring chose me is that I remind him of his daughter?
Heard through the grapvine "they'd love to have me back in the summer of course", but haven't worked with them much so might be boilerplate language/doesn't mean much or something.
Advice? Internship ending soon but its been good overall.
No matter when humans hire other humans - there will be a personal aspect as well.
Yes, there are hard skills, grades, and motivation letters. There are references and interviews. But at the end of the day everyone is also impressed by an interesting personality and values.
