hate this job. please help

been working in m&a at a bank for the summer (over halfway through now). i hate it and dont want to do it anymore but i dont want to quit due to reputational issues.

how do i coast through this thing.

ive tried not responding on weekends, but then i get into the office on monday and get yelled at. not sure what to do.

i basically want to finish the internship but only work a max of 60hrs per week (with no weekends). probably a lot to ask, but any help / guidance would be great.

You’re being paid to work 80+ hours, and honestly you’re probably producing maybe 10 hours worth of actual work versus 70 hours of waste/black hole.

There is no way you got a BB M&A or even a boutique M&A internship without knowing how many hours bankers work. If you don’t, you got it because your dad knows someone, so you’re likely loaded anyway so no need to worry about reputation.

Suck it up. Get through the ~5 weeks remaining and don’t accept the offer if you get it
