Help- Best Law Movies
So, there's this discussion on JDOasis about the best law movies of all time, and it was going really well for a while. And for a little while, I mean until Legally Blonde came up, which wasn't long.
If you could do me a favor and post your favorite law movie on this thread at some point (as long as it's not Legally Blonde or Legally Blonde 2), I'd much appreciate it:
Its old, but To Kill a Mocking Bird
Michael Clayton
A Civil Action (1998) starring John Travolta If you like military law, there's A Few Good Men by Tom Cruise, Demi Moore and Jack Nicholson
Completely agree on A Few Good Men (1992).
Speaking of which, I was literally just about to post that this is what I put on the JDO thread:
The Firm
Leagally Blonde is an awesome film though. Although I foundd leagally blonde 2 while enjoyable did not have the depth of the first film.
12 angry men is a great film set in a court, but you don't see the lawyers at all. It just the jury in one room for the whole film. It's brilliant.
Michael Clayton A Few Good Men Mississippi Burning Philadelphia A Time to Kill The Verdict Witness for the Prosecution And Justice for All Reversal of Fortune
Exorcism of Emily Rose has some decent courtroom scenes
Runaway Jury could have been great but pretty much sucked (book was good though)
Really into the Good Wife right now
A Civil Action is a bit overrated as is the Firm
C'mon man The Rainmaker...easy
The Lincoln Lawyer Not saying it belongs in the "Best Law Movie of All Time" category, but still a good watch.
That movie was surprisingly great.
Ummm...My Cousin Vinny. C'mon guys. Marisa Tomei in her prime and Ralph Macchio THE Karate Kid!
The Firm.
This and Top Gun are the most classic Tom Cruise being a cheese dick movies. The FBI, his prestigious law firm, the Mafia...even his hot wife!! It's Tom Cruise against the world!
My favorite scene is when he is walking down Beal St. when he first visits Memphis. As he's walking down the street with his wife and his colleagues from "the firm" he notices some 15 year old kid doing back hand springs down the street for tips. Before you know it, Tom (in his tight jeans and leather jacket) is doing back hand springs down the street with the kid. The stuntman transition is painfully obvious. Classic Tom Cruise.
