Over the past year or so, I've been subletting around NYC to get a feel for the neighborhood I eventually want to live in for a while. Getting ready to bite the bullet and pay the hellish broker fee, I spent time in several neighborhoods including UWS, Park Slope, Williamsburg, and East Village. Ideally, I was looking for something with easy access to good park or Central Park. But now there is another factor.
Moving to NYC from the west coast, I was surprised by the lack of talent in the Big Apple, where "models" are supposed to reign. I'm finding they're more like UofM girls, smarter that usual, but commonly not jaw dropping attractive. To my dismay, I began looking for 1BR apartments in my price range and that has sent me to the UES, where apparently there is a concentration of better than average looking females and a few that are just simply, hot. Not only that, they tend to be much more independent, living by themselves, although in a cramped studio.
Can anyone explain why they tend to culminate in UES? Are there any other areas worth checking out that I'm overlooking?
I'm targeting 1 bedrooms in the $2k+ range.

UES is milf city
UES in the 80's and 90's east of lex has a lot of cheaper high rise buildings that attract the 20something crowd. Many of them work in midtown east so having access to the 4/5/6 is important. The girls who live there tend to be transplants who are not from wealthy families and are working jobs that require them to live with roommates.
As for talent, yes, NYC is very lacking in talent especially when compared to L.A. and even Chicago. Don't move to NYC for that reason.
Considering you went to all the shitty neighborhoods, I'm not surprised you only have found hot girls in the UES.
Try West Village, lower Chelsea, Meatpacking, Soho, Tribeca.
Those areas are better but still not as good as the best of Chicago. Walk around in river north, gold coast, or lincoln park on a weekend night during the summer, and it will make your head spin.
I thought Chicago girls mostly had that 10lbs of extra that could just be take care of if they stopped hanging around everyones boat and ran twice a week. Maybe its a midwestern thing. They all had this broke girl needing to become a "housewife before 30" mentality, too.
A lot of guys talk about areas with high concentration of hot girls, but dont speak to said Hot girls... so whats the point?

Hot women are everywhere. I never understand these discussions. NYC has a ton of star struck idiots who think living in NYC makes them all bad ass. IMO, the easiest to slay.

I really don't understand the stance that there are no hot girls in NYC. There are 8MM people, 4MM women. There's at least a thousand of every type of hot.
I think people need to stop caring about hot chick's and start focusing on women that will engage with them. Like what does it matter if NYC is or is not a hot chick utopia. Focus in what's in your control.
Unless this site is a secret Don Juan hang out I suggest people start creeping on the cute 6-7s and putting up points on the board instead of waiting for unicorns.

As long as you don't look like a gremlin and since I love lists:
Dress well
Go to club or late night bar
Have a good time or at least pretend like you are, (drink a lot), girls like talking to guys who are having a good time.
If you can't get laid or at least get multiple numbers it means you fall into the gremlin category or you suck
I'll take beautiful over hot any day and by beautiful, I mean educated/ambitious and pretty rather than hot and dumb.
