I started to read the books first so the first season was hard for me to get through because I knew everything that was going to happen. None of the surprise deaths/twists were surprising at all and I always just saw those characters as walking corpses unfortunately. Kinda killed it for me.

But HOTD got me so into the world that I want to push past the point I got to in the books (little bit into #2) so I can enjoy the show as everyone else did.

Bro, that dragon scene was brutal. Daemon needs to tame that old/wild dragon and kill Vhagar as well as Aemond that one eyed fuck. I'm looking forward to more aerial combat with dragons. I think season 1 was a really great set up for the upcoming war, but I wish they included more storyline/perspective from other houses besides Targaryen. We didn't really get much insight into living under Targaryen rule, just the POV of the Targaryen rulers. Hopefully early season 2 we can see more of how the major houses in Westeros barter/interact/rationalize (with) the house Targaryen. Also fuck the Greens.

Found the show a bit boring given the main focus on just one house - like Everybody Loves Raymond Targaryen edition. Appreciate the stage had to be set through this season and hoping next season is more interesting as the war progresses and we see alliances with different houses etc
