How bad does it look if a new graduate is going to (potentially) lengthy medical appointments fortnightly?

Hi!

I've recently started full time work as a graduate and am looking for honest opinions from more senior workers on how my situation would reflect on me.

The basic gist is that I see a psychologist fortnightly-every 3 weeks to work on my CPTSD (complex post traumatic stress disorder) + see a psychiatrist every 3-6 months. My psychiatrist appointments are usually ~15 to 30 mins and my psychologist appointment is around 1 hour. The more lengthy medical appointments are because I am being tested for autism soon and the initial appointment is kind of long.

I am in a middle/back office role in institutional banking. I try to get early morning appointments/after work hour appointments but my psychologist is quite busy so I am not always able to. I've managed to book appointments for the next few months during times that can either count as lunch, or be made up for by staying back.

My dilemma is that I'm aware that ongoing medical treatment looks like I am really sick and I did not disclose my diagnosis to HR when signing my graduate contract. Should I be honest with my assigned buddy/manager as to the nature of the 'medical appointments?' If you were my manager/buddy would this reflect poorly on me? If you were a more senior member and heard about my frequent appointments, would this paint me in a negative light?

Thanks!

Not a problem whatsoever. I wouldn't disclose it just because I don't think it will be an issue, but I don't think your manager will have a bad reaction if you do.

People have appointments, just be professional about getting your work done. Especially in MO/BO, it's different from banking where things need to be done this absolute minute and the deadline is right now. No one will care at all if you say you have a medical appointment but will finish up your work later. It might be different if you had 1hr appointments three times a week.

Likely easier for you if you can get mostly early morning appointments, but really don't stress over this

You probably should find a place (psychologist/psychiatrist) that has either late weekday appointments or weekend appointments.
