How can I get this hairstyle?
Im a black male who is in the process of choosing a new "professional" hairstyle. I want to get this high and tight fade here: 
Even though I've decided on what I want to get, Im not sure what products to use to achieve it. I've been using curl cream and a brush so far. I use regular vo5 shampoo and conditioner twice a week. I asked my barber some suggestions on how to proceed but he doesn't understand English - in fact, the whole store has trouble speaking it. He only recommended using the twist sponge but I don't have enough hair for it to not look nappy. Im not sure what to do anymore.
Get a new barber. This is not a difficult cut. Where you from lil cubbie?
The problem isn't really the cut its the maintenance. My barber says I should use the sponge but Im not looking for a spiky "fuckboy" hairstyle.
And Im from the Bronx.
