How can I prove a fake employment status

I work at a boutique MA firm in Hong Kong. Recently my friend has introduced one of his childhood friends to me. That guy claims that he works at GS Asset Management but after a brief conversation with him, I am pretty sure he is lying because he basically knows nothing about finance. Now I have warned my friend that this guy could be lying but my friend wouldn't believe it and asked for a solid proof. Please let me know what I should do? Anyone can help?
