How do business cards work once employed?

So say you are employed into BACK OFFICE or teller at a bank. Are you able to order business cards with your bank on them but falsify the information to instead say something like "Investment Banking" rather than "IT" or something.

I know a friend who says he works at Goldman Sachs but I think it's for IT but he tells everyone he's in IBD. I asked him for a card and he says he doesn't have any on him but he'll go get it for me next time.

What are the chances he prints out fake IBD cards from Goldman?

If you find that they are fake cards,, call up GS and let them know that they got tech folks that think they are in IB... hahaha

The easiest way is to ask him what exactly he does, deals he worked on, etc. If he's a tech, he will eventually crack.

Simply put - just say no. If you can't break into IB, don't think a business card is going to do anything but eventually embarrass you when the truth comes out and the contact finds out that you do not, in fact, work in IB, but rather, BO or IT.

Craig McDermottAs long as it has eggshell coloring with romalian type, I think it should be alright...

You know that the portrayal of the characters in American Psycho wasn't meant to be taken complimentary... Sorry, i don't want to get involved in your little obsession here

He used to get 0 girls but he came back this year to help with recruiting and he's telling all the ladies how prestigious he is but a contact I have says he is in the IT group. How can i call him out on this? i was gonna post on his facebook and expose him but then he can just delete it, so instead i think i can post it on MY facebook status like "xxx works in IT, owned" since we share the same friends they will see it too.

He's a 1st year so maybe I can call up goldman HR and complain that he tried to give me advisory advice and see if he's really in IT?

why dont you focus on your life bud.

Just let him be. People who lie (like that kid A.J.) will eventually get what is coming to them. They just keep digging themselves deeper down the hole. However your fascination with him is a bit unsettling.

I hope this is a joke! You are going to post on your Facebook that this guy is "owned" because you are calling him out about a possible lie? You might be a bigger tool than him. Get real and get a life.

Judging by the fact that you wrote "once you are employed," I will hazard a guess that you do not lay claim to that distinction. Why don't you focus on finding a job rather than worrying that someone else may or may not have a very small piece of paper that may or may not have a few words on it that may or not be 100% accurate? Otherwise, I hope you're comfortable in the bottom decile.

Seriously?

If he is embellishing his job to pick up some girls, no one cares. If he prints out fake business cards, he is a moron.

If you care enough to call up HR or post on your Facebook that he is really in IT, you should go see a therapist to get over your insecurity issues.
