How do I get my little brother to raise his standards in women? He's in college
I know I sound like Steff in Pretty in Pink -- "if you got a hard-on for trash don't take care of it around me, pal" -- but it boggles my mind why he's with dirt when with just a little effort he could easily pull smart and fit 7s and 8s.
I guess to understand the foundation of it all, why does any young guy have standards (i.e. p--sy is p--sy, why not just go for the absolute easiest to take down)? I had meh taste in girls in high school but I guess being introduced to attractive girls who were ALSO smart/ambitious in college was a game-changer. Then I couldn't look at the lower-grade chicks I used to hook up with w/o cringing. I started polishing up my appearance, staying in shape, etc. and dated cute smart 7-10s and eventually met my wife.
Anyways, my little bro goes to my alma mater, surrounded by smart cute babes, he's a decent looking kid, but he just does not care. The current chick he's hooking up with is total trash. It's like his "type" is just the easiest to pull low hanging fruit. Like a pathetic "take what I can get" sort of trash outlook. I try to encourage him to aim higher but he does not care.
To add, I'm somewhat worried he's going to screw around and get one of these dumb birds pregnant.
He probably will, and you'll be the successful brother on the sidelines saying "I told you so." The solution is to stop giving a shit now and let him learn of his own folly.

It's possible he doesn't see you as a high achiever, and thus decides to "do his own thing," which is manifest partly in his tendency to retain thots. Being a big brother myself, one thing I've learned is that you absolutely cannot try to mentor or teach anybody who isn't absolutely dedicated to learning from you. It's a worthless pursuit - they don't understand that you're doing it out of compassion, and won't value your time accordingly. For you to have wisdom to give, it must first be seen as wisdom.
Has he met any 8s or 9s that he thinks are hot or do you think he's too scared to go after them?
If the the former is true you may have to hire an 8 or 9 prostitute (Blue Chip) for him.
Campus is overflowing with hot smart wealthy tail -- he settles for low-grade bottom feeders.
If your alma mater is who your username suggests, the tail is far smarter and wealthier than it is hot.

I'd assume his IQ is lower than yours, making him an easy mark. He's captivated by the consistent flattery thirsty broads shower him with (facetime, sexts, snapchat, sex on command) , where as prettier classier girls will generally make you work a little harder for it and aren't as desperate to please (not always, of course).

There's not much you can realistically do presently without him feeling like you're nagging and/or overbearing. Give sporadic, constructive advice and articulate why you think he'd be better off if he changed. He'll grow out of it eventually
