How do you find fulfillment in your job on the buyside?

So in the last month I had emergency surgery, almost died because my colon decided to blow up, and as cliche as it sounds its given me a bit of carpe diem. I work in REPE, and even before my surgery I've been hung up on really just making my CEO/Founder tons of money. That was really only the benefit I was creating for anyone. I'm not sure I'll be one of those people that lives until they are 90, so it's hard for me to be satisfied with just creating wealth for already wealthy people.

I was just curious for those out there is corporate or RE private equity how you find fulfillment in your job?
