I think Trump started a little weak but came out strong with the closing statement. Kamala was unfortunately well prepared, but almost to a fault though since her answers seemed so scripted. Also, it seemed the moderators were biased in Kamala's favor. This is going to be a really close race...

Haven't had a chance to watch the whole thing, but from clips I'm seeing on X seems like ABC basically did the debating for Kamala and refused to fact check her on multiple fronts. Doubling down on the "very fine people" hoax after all these years is something else. Clips I've seen of Trump also seemed pretty flat, didn't check her on many big issues and didn't even try to broach her complicity in Biden "concealing" his decline over the past few years. Oh well.
Id watch the full debate. It paints a different picture imo. Trump only got fact checked 3 times and they were all absolutely outlandish claims (immigrants eating animals and post birth abortions)

Trump didn’t win any new votes, partly because of the 2 big ticket issues
1) still claiming 2020 election was stolen
2) abortion

GOP had a gimme putt for the presidency this year and will miss it by not being able to get off the Trump teet.
#1, not admiting he lost the election, should be an automatic disqualifier to the presidency for anyone reasonable
(1) It is dishonest to treat unequal things as equal. I never understood this fetish so many people have for just basic dishonesty.
(2) Kamala did far better than Donald. She was by no means perfect, and Donald was able to do some things well, but Kamala did much better than that rapist.
(3) Debates, while they have greater than literally zero impact, are generally minimally impactful on the election. I don’t expect this debate will materially impact the election
I thought Trump touting how he has the support of Viktor Orban was a big mistake.
1. The general audience has no idea who he is
2. The general audience does not care about Hungary or know where they are on a map
3. People that DO know of Orban know that he has censored media, stripped rights from his people, and consolidated power similar to… a dictator.
I wonder why Trump didn’t gloat that he has the support of more relevant world leaders. Oh wait, probably because he doesn’t.
