How many of you guys are packing zyns?
I'm a senior at a big state school. Doing a buyside gig after undergrad. Currently trying to kick the zyns, got on them after I interned at a PE fund with long hours. I'm currently almost week 2 zyn free. The only thing stopping me from quitting completely is 1) I fucking love zyns and 2) I'm on fintwit and it seems like a ton of guys (especially HF, where my end goal is) are popping zyns like crazy and a lot of them swear by it and say it helps them lock in. Not sure if if this is just some crazy mental gymnastics to not quit but honestly I see no point in quitting if I'm just gonna start doing them again to be focused on the job in a couple months.
So those if you on buyside/HF, how many of you guys are on zyns and if so, have they helped you get an edge over the non nic addicts?

Zyns might help focus you a bit, but if your argument comes down to not quitting to get an edge, just know their are people literally on meth (adderal) you are competing against. Don't use performance as an excuse not to quit Zyns, but thats just my take as an intern.

What works for some doesn’t work for others. Theres not a TON of research on the long term negative side effects of nicotine pouches, but people hit their reasons for quitting a certain substance, whether it be drinking, weed, nicotine, or even certain medications.
Context on me: I ripped a few zyns myself and w friends but always enjoyed vaping more. Tbh, my reason for quitting was a mix of the negative health effects associated with smoking in general as well as my mental state without nicotine. Didn’t like being on edge without it + felt that I was generally more stressed out even when I wasn’t on edge. Decided to take the holidays to tweak out on my family rather than my coworkers and have been nic free for about a month!
When it came to work performance, it helped in times of stress but I wouldn’t say it helped me “lock in” like the effects of adderall. When I think of “locking in” I think of a mental state where you’re really just focused on the task at hand and your inner voices are suppressed/redirected towards the goal at hand, pretty much eliminating a lot of distractions that slow you down. As someone that doesn’t have ADHD but has tried Adderall, this is exactly what that effect does to me. Nicotine does not do this for me. Instead, it calmed me down and gave me a little break from stress.
Now, if packing one on your second floor helps you achieve this effect, great for you. However, you may find that trying to improve your own focus and efficiency substance free may provide you better returns long term.
Got a source on that? Don't think they've been around long enough to conclude the effects of long term use.
I used to pack a Zyn in my lower lip, but saw my gumlines were receding because of it, so avoid that now and just put one or two in the rectum, like they do in Scandinavia.

Yup - it is a magnificent zynphony of flavors and feelings.
Why did Zyn become such a strong brand among all the other ways to get nicotine that way (other pouches, lozenges etc)

I have interned at two different RE firms, at both firms 90% of juniors had zyns on them at all times, 1/3 seniors would as well lol.
Don't know how it is industry to industry, but at least in CRE it is pretty prevalent.
