My wife and I got married on the beach on Kauai, just the two us, someone we met taking photos and the woman doing the ceremony. The next day we backpacked the Kalalau trail and the whole thing was fantastic. Back stateside, we had a reception with about 50 people.  We are always incredulous at the amount of money people pay for weddings.

Marriage is nowhere near the horizon from me, I'm not even in a relationship, but if I was to get married today, I can think of no more than 10 people who would be attending. I have my three best friends I've now known for over two decades, and then a handful of other people and that's about it on my side. Whoever would be coming from her side would be a different matter entirely and would most likely add to the total number of humans attending.

Animals are another matter. Dogs are very much welcome, as are horses.

depends tbh, but I do want to get married in the Traditional Latin Mass form, or at least a more reverential NO form. I don't know how many of my close friends would want to stick around for that though, so would make more sense to have the ceremony and then an off-site reception which some of my friends have done.

it's all the rage these days. It is great though tbh, I don't want to sound annoying about it but after starting to go last year it has had a noticeable effect on my spirituality, prayer life, charity, and solidarity.

Sadly my diocese doesn't allow most sacraments in the TLM form apparently.

Well now that you asked, you are required to invite every person on this website.

So all hypothetical for now...

But let's say immediate family (parents + brother), a couple other relatives and maybe a dozen close friends and plus ones. My guess is SO would be similar, so works out to somewhere around 50, but unlikely more than 100.

Honestly am thinking I want to drop 100k on the shindig regardless so I can ball out on one stupid and incredibly fiscally irresponsible thing. So depending on how many attendees it could be very nice or pretty nice, I guess.
