When I was single I would go on dates 3-5x a week and had a handful of girls on rotation. Some lessons:

- Never buy dinner for a girl you arent sleeping with

- If you try to win her with your wallet she will only value you for money

- Drinks and food are better at your place than a restaurant

- Novelty, not expense, is how you get her to think about you nonstop

- Dinner dates in general suck, as do a lot of sit down dates. Do something that has you moving, different locations, interacting with the world around you, etc.

- Dont let your chick know how much $$$ you make or have (obviously doesnt apply for more serious relationships)

- Be thoughtful with things like gifts, get her something that matters to her specifically over jewlery, nice clothes, etc. There are very fast depreciating returns with gifts. If you are married, her reaction from a $2,000 gift to a $6,000 gift will not be 3x different. Her reaction from a $200 gift to a $2,000 gift will not be 10x different. If it has thought behind it this will go a long way. But also only buy gifts for girls you are in longterm relationships with or married

- See rule #1. If you take her on a first or second date to a nice restaurant you are a fucking square end of story. She is just using you for a meal and 7 days later will forget most details about you. No one gets turned on and horny over carbonara. If you need date ideas let me know - could teach a college course on this subject

Goodluck out there champ

I mean if we are being honest,  probably a lot more is being spent on the pursuit of finding love then most would like to admit.  You may not spend it on her, but if you buy clothes to look good, you probably are partially doing it for your partner.  If you are spending money on a nice apartment you are probably doing it partially so you impress partners when they come over.
