Got promoted as part of a new layer to facilitate better quality deliverables from the team. During the announcement meeting, this is the IM conversation I am having with one of my new direct reports:
DR: moving on
VP: ok. we will need to talk about roll off timing next week.
DR: no thanks
VP: so your last day is today? do you want to transition to a different team?
DR: nope. Updating my resume for the first time since 2007. 600 open analytics positions.
VP: i understand. there is a need for you to continue working on projects until you leave. are you willing to continue in your role?
DR: who knows.

Asshole move by the report, unless of course the #HotGirlSummer was something the report said in which case he is clearly way too cool to be working there.
The DR is 15-20 years my senior. I doubt he knows what #HotGirlSummer is.
