I feel like I just want to go out and really do something... but I don't know what to do...

Right now I'm a driver for Uber. I only drive in the dead of night - since I have chronic insomnia. I am quite isolated to be frank with you all, and I am disgusted by the sleaze that I witness throughout my town.

In an attempt to find an outlet for my frustrations, I have begun a program of intense physical training. Too much abuse has gone on for too long. From now on, I'm going to do 50 push ups each morning/50 pull ups. There will be no more pills, there will be no more bad food, no more destroyers of my body. From now on it'll be total organization - every muscle must be TIGHT.

WSO, how do I figure out what to do with myself?

Do you have another job, or are you just doing uber right now?

If you want intense physical training, go to a gym. 50 push ups and pull ups isn't going to get you where you want to be. If you want intensity and to be pushed, go to a crossfit gym and try going heavy on your compound weight lifts. This will change your body. 50 push ups and pull ups in the morning (50 pull ups is much harder than 50 push ups btw) will not change your body much at all.

Do you have any other hobbies or interests that have fallen to the wayside during your highschool/college years? Have you thought about getting back in to those? Fitness is great and all (been lifting for hypertrophy for like 8 years now), but you should have other hobbies and interests supplementing it

Don't beat yourself up on this, Eric. Some people like taking the long way home. Who the fuck knows?

You're being too general. You have to start somewhere. Have you considered that through these avenues you'll learn more about yourself? You might find where you want to go. You're not as lost as you think and you're not alone.

What are your career goals? What industries interest you?

Who are your best friends? What are they doing? Talk to them. No one knows where the fuck they're going.

try joining a martial arts school that has physical training...like brazilian jujittsu

not only is it a great workout, but the controlled wrestling aspect is great for making friends and building a social circle (not right away...but over time).

and..the dojo is someplace to go.

also, i suggest you volunteer at a shelter of some sort....homeless, children, food, something...

just google it...you're welcome

That day, for no particular reason, I decided to go for a little run. So I ran to the end of the road. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd run to the end of town. And when I got there, I thought maybe I'd just run across Greenbow County. And I figured, since I run this far, maybe I'd just run across the great state of Alabama. And that's what I did. I ran clear across Alabama. For no particular reason I just kept on going. I ran clear to the ocean. And when I got there, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well turn around, just keep on going. When I got to another ocean, I figured, since I'd gone this far, I might as well just turn back, keep right on going. - F.G.
