I got scammed by a matchmaker service

*DELETED BY THE AUTHOR*

I talked to the matchmaking company about my complaints and feedback. In exchange for giving me free service for an additional 3 months to make amends, I agreed to delete the review. If anyone has questions, feel free to DM me.

Wow - I read all of that. Sounds extremely frustrating. The matchmaking service could be a well thought out and poorly executed service, which is common in many industries.

Were the girls:

a) paid for showing up

b) charged just like you

c) or were they doing it for free?

Tinder or The League seems like a better use of your time.

Sorry you got burned and not because of an STD from one of these dates. I would just say use the less expensive real-life matchmaking service of going to the dog park or going to a bar after work hours. Or if you want someone with some morals for once, going to Sunday mass and getting involved there. League sports are another good one like even a bowling league. Know one of the best families that met during one of these leagues. Yet here we are eight years and two children later...

Or if you're a degen like a friend told me (and no it wasn't Pizz), there's always your friends' sisters.

Dude did you really spend $5,000 on this shit or are you trolling…

Yeah, sounds like their sales team is much better than their operations team.

Seems like you still haven't found a dating strategy that works for you. Vary your strategy. I usually found cold approach better for me. I spot a girl I like, found some excuse to talk to her, made a couple stupid jokes, asked for a number. If she was down then I would meet her later for coffee (never dinner, too much investment for a first date) and see if there's chemistry. This saves my time and theirs.Or I might meet a girl through my hobbies (dated one girl from my martial arts program in uni for years). This seems to me as the most natural way of meeting girls and so I don't really understand the attraction of apps or matchmakers.Years ago I used apps but the girls rarely looked like their picture and I get the sense there's probably hundreds of guys chasing each girl and throwing them tons of ego-boosting validation. That means your DM is fighting for attention among hundreds. And why bother?

Meanwhile a direct in person approach means you have confidence and are attracted enough to walk up and shoot your shot.

Very good points. The dating landscape has changed dramatically in the last few years due to apps & COVID. In 2013-2016 I was getting ton of high quality matches on apps, and they were very receptive to going out. Now, I'm getting far fewer matches, with lot more ghosting. Probably due to sheer volume as everyone is on apps now, and the women have become far more cynical about apps. Unfortunately, apps are now the #1 way couples meet. And post-COVID, women seem less eager to meet "organically." Just my observation.
