Basically the title. When do you actually work? I mean some of you guys are in PE, HF and IB and should be VERY busy but at the same time, I see some usernames posting here so frequently who work in these functions and they have been at it for YEARS! How do you do it?

I post almost exclusively while on phone calls. I've been posting on forums since i was 10 or 11 years old so it's a hard to kill habit.
IB ebbs and flows. Some weeks I'll be fucking slammed, shit to do all day, leaving work at 2am, other weeks (like this one), things will be pretty light. Getting in at 930, leaving at 730pm. Nature of the job

Have been on gardening leave for the past 3mos, so plenty of time to kill. That said, have just restarted, so will likely be only posting seriously on weekends again.
Used to post a lot when I worked at a garbage firm that didn't have much going on. Now I'm exclusively on the weekends.
Research has peaks and valleys of work intensity
Because no one is busy "all the time".
Think about your average day. How often are you performing at less than 100% efficiency? Maybe you read the paper in the morning. Maybe you check ESPN once or twice a day. The idea that anyone is doing nothing but work from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave is laughable
