If Money Was No Longer an Issue, What Problems Would You Be Left With?

Question is in the title. If your money problems went away tomorrow, what problems would replace them? I'm anticipating that someone will cite the hedonistic treadmill as a reason why money problems could never completely disappear. Is there a point where you're rich enough that the hedonistic treadmill is not impactful, and if not, assume that there is. What problems would you be left with?

If money solved all problems, then the richest people would have no issues at all. That is not the case. You are left with the same fundamental issues as poor people - a desire to be wanted.

I don't have money problems now and I'm not even rich. If I were rich, I would be hitting up stem cell therapy clinics in Belize though to solve my back problems and also cause why not. I'd IV that shit.

heister: Look at all these wannabe richies hating on an expensive salad. https://arthuxtable.com/

Very few problems..

Most of the limitations on seeing through my ideas and having a decent lifestyle (travelling, buying books, buying gadgets, visiting friends scattered globally etc) surround money.

Have a tonne of time and a tonne of ideas/plans but not much capital.

Most of the philosophical ones? Say what you will about the rat race, but it keeps us occupied. We don't seem to do very well as a species when left to ponder the meaning of life.

To wit:

"Son, life is hard. But it's harder if you're stupid." - my dad

Money is not the issue for most people on here. Money doesn't make problems go away, although not having any introduces some.

Life is about relationships and meaningful work / being part of something bigger than ourselves. No amount of $ is going to solve those needs by itself. Some of the most miserable people I've met are the richest. They think money will solve their problems, but the pursuit of it usually exacerbates them (not enough time for meaningful relationships, or having a job they hate just because they can't make the same paycheck anywhere else).

Spot on, abundance of wealth will never make up for scarcity of character (not that the rich inherently lack character).

But to answer the question, I'd probably lose my mind trying to figure out universe type shit. I'd be like a dog that finally caught its tail, no better off than when I started and now left with nothing to do.

"Let me tell you something. There is no nobility in poverty. I’ve been a rich man, and I’ve been poor man. And I choose rich every fucking time. Cause, At least as a rich man, when I have to face my problems, I show up in the back of a limo wearing a $2000 suit …and $40,000 gold fuckin’ watch!" - Wolf of Wall Street

All joke aside, my family and I are "comfortable". I would not work for my entire life and I would be taken care of. But why am I still working? Because I want to do what I want and it has nothing to do with money.

And the point about being rich - what problem will it replaced? It will be the same problems - family, friends, health, and happiness. And then why are rich people still working? Because when you are super rich, it is a different set of problems that you wish to have? - Oh what expensive car to drive? - Oh what watch to wear? - Oh which mistress shall I take this time to which destination? - Oh which movie shall I make this time?

In the end, being rich won't solve all the problems but it takes care of 99% of our basic needs. You don't need to worry daily about your financial security. You don't need to worry about your physical securities (you have an army of people to take care of that). Your health is taken care of to the extent that money can buy; if money can't then being poor isn't a better alternative either. 99% of marriage/relationship issue come from personal finances - so that is taken care of.

So people may ask - then why are rich people not happy? Trust me, we are happier than 99% of other people. The 1% that is truly miserable, he is just bored out of him mind to create problem that does not even exist in the first place. Even then he can hire therapist and pay a ton of cash to alleviate his problems. Hope this helps.

P.S. the STD from hookers do not apply to rich people. Truly rich people hire escort agency where they are being screened for all STD tests prior (and monthly tests) and they are listed as employees to the super rich and they have employment contract to service that person for a defined period of time. STD is only for poor people who can only afford to hire low paying hookers.
