Impressively Bad Networking

I received a LinkedIn message that made me laugh it was so bad. A student in a god awful MBA, literally a cut beneath directional state schools and twice as expensive to boot, sent me a message in which they misspelled my name, misspelled the word resume and asked me about being a broker. Needless to say that connection request got ignored. Anybody else have any stories?

Have a friend who works at a prominent HF and did not do IB out of college - constantly gets emails from students saying they're interested in HF's investment banking program

Had a networking call with a student attending a local university. After a minute of small talk, I said “thanks for reaching out. Happy to help you and answer any questions you have” then the student sighed and said “I guess you can tell me a bit about yourself.. but are you guys taking on other interns?”

Another time a student told me he didn’t care to get to know me and that he’s curious if he knows anyone hiring.

I hope this never happened.
