Incoming SA dilemma

Incoming SA at a EB coming from a non target. We have 1 analyst and 1 associate in the firm and the associate was super helpful during recruiting. However, this 1st year analyst has a best friend that dislikes me a lot. I don't know what I did to this guy but he openly talks bad about me and I fear that his attitude towards me is going to creep onto the first year that I don't know really well.

Is there anything I can do? The guy is an asshole and he's known as the cocky guy who struck out on recruiting from my school so amending our relationship would be pretty hard.
