Insect Food - Would You Eat It?

I’ve heard of eating snails in France but would you eat this? They put insets in their cakes and claim it’s a good source of protein. Do you think they will start serving this during networking events? lol

(A video this time rather then an article!)

Here’s the article: http://www.reuters.com/video/2012/04/18/have-a-sl…

Problem I heard in Europe is the EU food regulation wouldn't allow commercialization of insect foods, as the use of pesticides etc...on crops makes the majority of these insects toxic for human consumption.

And anyway...We can start this topic after a nuclear war where eating insects in the west will be relevant lmao.

I eat flying ants. It's a delicacy in the African nation I'm consulting in.

I fry them without oil (they're oily enough), salt them, and stick em in my salad. Very crunchy on the ouside but soft in the middle. Yummy. Lots of protein. They only come out once a year though. I've also tried grasshoppers and hairyy catepillars. Big ones. Not so nice.

That is awesome. Anyone ever seen "Bizarre Foods" on the Travel Channel? Travel Channel was pretty much the only TV I watched in college. That and sports. It is a great channel.

Only if your mom turned into a grasshopper.

Under my tutelage, you will grow from boys to men. From men into gladiators. And from gladiators into SWANSONS.

A guy I know used to fry crickets and eat them, I have no idea why. I'd only do this in a survival situation. The flyng ants do sound cool though, maybe I'd give it a shot.

Get busy living

There are some places where there are no alternative protein sources, so people eat Madagascan cockroaches for protein. Yum.
