insomnia - work-related

Hey all, have you guys been able to get into normal sleep patterns? I'm able to get to sleep ok, as I come home exhausted. But problem is that because of stress and fear of missing an email or message, I can't get more than 4 hours of sleep per night, max, even during weekends. Anyone else face this? There was a previous post about how to fall asleep, but for me that's not the problem. The problem is keeping asleep, and I just find myself waking up, doing some work, and fading in and out of sleep. And then at work, I'm zombified. Ideas?

I have some similar challenges, although mine is more general anxiety (although plenty of that 'general' is work related) - where i can get to sleep quickly, but will wake up after a few hours. sometimes i get back to sleep - restless - others i can will just keep waking up. Melatonin helps sometimes but never really helped much in staying asleep. At a certain point, you almost expect to wake up and then - surprise! You do.

I'd recommend seeing a sleep specialist or just your general physician. You may also consider the 'therapy' route - but that's up to you. . Sometimes it's more behavioral - i.e. retraining yourself to sleep properly, manage anxiety levels, disassociate with work, etc. Others you may need some drugs to try and get a normal sleep pattern, then work on yourself from there.
