Help guide me as to how many mbps I'll need. I live by myself and have Netflix/HBOgo and am thinking about getting a Chromecast or Apple tv. No gaming, not downloading shit 24/7, and basic surfing outside of that.
My options are 6, 12, 18 mbps and up. I also travel a decent amount for work, so I'd like to find the happy medium between cost and performance.
Any tech savvy monkeys care to chime in?

18 is fine for streaming. Maybe try 12. Finally left Verizon DSL for cable and got over 100 for a slightly higher price than I paid for less than 1/5 that speed. BTW, Top Gear was fine at HQ, no real buffering most of the time even on DSL.
I don't know if this will help, but honestly, you would be able to get by with 6. 12 if you want to be safe.

I have 50 or 100, i forget, and don't care enough to check, but it's because I want to be able to game on my PS4, and stream on my laptop and have someone else using the apple tv in the other room, all without having any lag.
