While I'm in the mindset of the side hustle this week, an alumni from my Ingrid's tech management programs is working on an Airbnb type site for short term, intern focused rentals. From the description, listings and profiles will be available - you find a place that peaks your interest, check out the renters profile, get a feel for one another, then rent through the site. Looks like it won't even launch beta until the end of summer. While discussing the idea, I, of course said it would've been better to have had it launched much, much earlier this year and that he needed to hit up sites like this one for initial users. Though based on the LA, seems like it might be best to launch in NYC or SF. What do you guys think?

Well there are internships all year round at alot of places, but generally alot of the bigger cities have intern housing for the summer if you look up local universities/colleges.
They should offer short term (30-60 days) leases (maybe furnished apartments) for recent hires moving to a completely new city. Maybe I am the only one but I do not like to be spontaneous when it comes to spending lots of money and so if I were to move into a completely new city, I would like to move into a furnished apartment in the city a month before work and spend my time visiting as many apartments as I can until I find the right one. This would allow me to speak with coworkers, spot areas of the town to avoid, spot areas of the town that I will be spending time at i.e where the good bars and restaurants are at, and pick a place accordingly.
