It's easy to do nothing and become depressed. It's profound and courageous to grow and enjoy life
We can all do nothing and become lethargic and depressed. It's not that difficult. Although, we can also do nothing and be profoundly at peace. That's more difficult but clearly more rewarding
Imo, the most rewarding, profound, and courageous thing is to enjoy life. It's not always easy to do, it takes effort, you need to work at it. You're not going to enjoy every second. But it's about the act of living as a whole, in general.
It's not fleeting happiness. It's a default mode of inner peace and growth. This takes effort. It's difficult. We need to figure it out for ourselves (using books/teachers as guides) even though at our core we're all similar so the lessons will seem derivative or base.
They deepest lessons are often the simplest because of how internalized they are in all of us. But we may not truly appreciate the classic lessons until we learn through our own experience.
Think deeply about these things for yourself. Iterate. Figure out what works for you. Then go live each day virtuously.
