This is WSO so I can say whatever. My older brother went to HYPS and had an amazing social time there. He's since exited to a HYPS med school.
I just feel so shitty. I have a great EB offer, but I feel jealous of the social life my bro had. Mine was fucked by COVID-19. I wish I could have lived his life. His friends and social life at HYPS was so great. My life sucks because of COVID. All I have are HS friends and mutuals.
I'm gonna be honest, my bro had a shitty life growing up. Our parents are Asian immigrants. He was on the shitty end of that while I was born a decade later when our parents were wealthy. I just feel so jealous and feel like I'd give up my EB offer for his life. He was at GS/MS in 2010 so obvs a great guy.

I guess it's just that he got a full 4 years on campus while I got a fraction of that.
I mean you're not alone in that. Plenty of people (myself included) basically got two years on campus. I hate that fact too but try and keep a positive attitude. You have a great job lined up, will be making a lot of money, and you'll "catch up" if that's what's bothering you.
I guess I'm just really sad seeing how close my 'fuck around' time is to ending. None of us will have more than a week or two off until retirement unless we make fuck you level money which is unlikely for most here.
I get it. I'm graduating and will be starting FT in June. It sucks to have missed out because of COVID. But I'm still 22, with a good job lined up and going to be in a place like NYC so it's up to me how I choose to live going forward. You won't ever be this free again (unless maybe you go to B-school) but you can still live life. Obviously, you'll have more responsibility and less time but it's not the end of the world. Be happy for your brother. Jealousy isn't the answer here.
Not sure if this is a troll, but I think your perspective is pretty bad (in your comparison to your brother and your comments above). I understand that COVID was hard for many people in college, I’m glad I wasn’t in college during this time, but to take such a negative view on life, social circle, etc over a couple year period is insane. Spoiler: there is a life after 22, and it’s awesome. So many people spend today being upset about yesterday and looking forward to tomorrow that they never enjoy “today”. You are about to enter a great part of life, so please enjoy it, and if you aren’t (if you hate banking) then change it.
Many of my closest friends are from high school, there is nothing wrong with that. And if you think that frat party you missed out on in college ruins things, there is plenty of time to party (or do things you enjoy).
And, yes, you will have a lot more than a week or two off in life, and you don’t need “f you” money.
