Based on the most discussed WSO threads, there’s no direct mention of disqualification (DQ) for such an incident during athletic competitions. However, it would likely depend on the specific sport and its governing rules. In some cases, it might be seen as an unfortunate but hardcore display of commitment to the competition, while in others, it could lead to disqualification if it interferes with the event or poses a health/safety concern.

For example, endurance sports like marathons or cycling often see athletes pushing through such situations without penalty, as it's considered part of the extreme physical demands. On the other hand, sports with stricter hygiene or conduct rules might handle it differently.

If you were DQ'd a good chunk of the people who run in marathons wouldn't keep doing it lol

Especially in marathons, if you’ve been training for a year to qualify for Boston and this is supposed to be your race to do it, some people will decide not to take the time to use the bathroom during their qualifying by race

That said, as a fairly quick marathon runner myself who would like to qualify for Boston one day, qualifying isn’t worth crapping yourself. Just use the bathroom and qualify in the next race after being more careful about what you eat beforehand

So I've been to a lot of athletic events and triathlons and I typically only eat dinner the night before and then take a massive amount of caffeine the morning of the race and shit my brains out at 5am then drink coconut water and literally piss while running - there is no more shit in my system. The only exception to this was a 50mi trail race and I had to eat food and shit in the forest, but didn't shit on myself.

Looked into the actual event a bit more. I guess you have to use & share machines / weights and the lady’s excrement was all over. Totally different ballgame than running a marathon where you mostly minimally impact others… this lady’s explosion is a legit biohazard to everyone else who uses the machines / weights after her. 100% DQ worthy.

Is pissing while running common for marathon runners? Isn't there some point where you wouldn't need to piss at all due to using or sweating out any water you take in? I once attended a crazy wedding where it was 4h of straight up moving and dancing, no alcohol just water, and nobody including myself had to pee even once. I'd never experienced that before but it was the only thing that made sense.

Why would you be?

If you're a weekend jogger or lifter or whatever, then yeah, it is pretty embarrassing.  If you are a professional and you've been training your whole life for a marathon/meet/Olympics, why would you care?  Of course they should trade momentary embarrassment for success in what they're doing.  Who wouldn't?

Should depend on the event. Any indoor activities with any sort of shared equipment, that's a biohazard and 100% should be a DQ. For a marathon, probably shouldn't be a DQ imo

Either way, this isn't 'hardcore' - it's gross. Sure, do what needs to be done, but come on...
