Laptops to buy (updated aug 2023)

Hi guys,

I have a mac rn and want to get a pc (and monitor) and wanted some recs especially for the laptop. Does it matter what monitor I get? Can it just be a Phillips from Amazon?

A laptop - I need something good for financial modelling / IB stuff. I already have a mac.

In terms of budget, I want to spend enough to have a laptop that runs data/models efficiently and is good for work… but also preferably not too expensive considering I’m a college student who already has a mac.

For the monitor, again I need something that works well… and I don’t really know what the price range for that would be

The only difference between Asset Management and Investment Research is assets. I generally see somebody I know on TV on Bloomberg/CNBC etc. once or twice a week. This sounds cool, until I remind myself that I see somebody I know on ESPN five days a week.
