Laptops to buy (updated aug 2023)
Hi guys,
I have a mac rn and want to get a pc (and monitor) and wanted some recs especially for the laptop. Does it matter what monitor I get? Can it just be a Phillips from Amazon?
First, do you want a PC or a laptop ?
Second, is this for gaming, work, or both?
Third, what’s your budget for the Monitor + PC ?
A laptop - I need something good for financial modelling / IB stuff. I already have a mac.
In terms of budget, I want to spend enough to have a laptop that runs data/models efficiently and is good for work… but also preferably not too expensive considering I’m a college student who already has a mac.
For the monitor, again I need something that works well… and I don’t really know what the price range for that would be
Why do you need a good computer for work? 1. Work will provide you a laptop or 2. you’ll have a desktop at work that you’ll Citrix into. Your personal computer specs do not matter, only the WiFi card and keyboard.
You’re better off just buying a Windows keyboard for your Macbook and boot camping into Windows until you start work.
I just need a good windows laptop where I can do excel also for classes. - do you have any recs?
