Laptops for Investors/Investment Professionals/Bankers? (2023)

I have just joined a new private investment firm based in NYC after spending 5 years in IB/PE. My company has provided me with a Surface Laptop 4 (i7 Processor, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, 3 GHz, etc.) without the side number keypad (tenkey-less).

My boss has realized that although the Surface Laptop 4 is a high-performing laptop, it is not the ideal setup for heavy users and front office personnel (aka keyboard monkeys) like myself. My boss mentioned this week that I can order a new laptop of my choice (obviously within reason).

In the past, I have used Lenovo's ThinkPad (work/personal). I've seen old posts here where many users recommend ThinkPad with keypads as well. However, it's now 2023 and I would like to refresh the discussion:

Would appreciate and welcome some suggestions from those who have knowledge and experience. Budget ideally below $3,000 (though my firm likely will say yes to high price). Would appreciate some inputs too as to why you recommend!

Happy Friday investors / bankers. Cheers

Update (as of 8/23): Decided to go with Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Gen ($2250). Dell XPS ($3375 - not sure why this is more expensive than ThinkPad) was tempting but I'd rather stick with what I know.
