Latering within the firm

So, having grown up in LES, I decided to try something new and moved to Chicago for full time. However, over the past three months, I have very quickly realized that I really don't enjoy living anywhere but home. My firm has a one year minimum prior to transferring. But how difficult is it to really manage the mobility. I hate living here to the point that I feel like I would be willing to quit and take another job if mobility is not possible. On the flipside, I really like the people I am working with but I miss home to the point that I think I will just not be happy here for the next three years.
