Lease a 1 BR or a 2 BR and try to find a roommate? (Denver)

Hi all, wanted to get your input here for those more experienced with finding roommates. My lease is up on 4/2 and really looking to save some money so would like to get a roommate. In the same building, I could lease a 1 BR for $1,500 or a 2 BR for $2,100. The 2 BR lease would not begin until May, so that would give me some time to try and fill the second bedroom (same PM as my current lease and think they will allow me to extend my move-out date). There seems to be plenty of roommate finder groups for Denver on facebook so I don't think it will be an issue finding someone, but would be pretty bummed if I got stuck paying $2,100 for several months. What do yall think? Risky or not a big deal finding someone? For the area and the building, both rents are pretty fair, and would think someone would be stoked to only pay $1,050 for a room here. Thanks in advance for the input!
