Leaving for Remote Work

Anyone set up shop in a different state since remote work seems here to stay? Not talking about going back home to relatives etc., more interested in living somewhere else for a while. We're in NYC and wife has a close friend in Miami. Also know some Caribbean countries are trying to lure remote workers. How was the talk with manager / HR?

Can't imagine many have, besides the work life benefit the most obvious benefit is tax savings but upon meeting with CPAs it becomes clear that new york state telecommuter tax laws are extremely prohibitive from actually realizing those savings (you will be liable for NY state taxes no matter where you move - not sure if that applies to people who permanently renounce US citizenship to move to carribean)
