Living in Houston

So I was recently offered a position as a SA and was wondering if anyone who lives there/has lived there has any insights to offer? I've read some good things but would love to hear it first hand.

Also, any recommendations for where to try to live? Thanks!

I used to live in Houston 5 years ago. See my thoughts below.

  • I would recommend living in Midtown / heights areas assuming your office is downtown
  • Midtown was the neighborhood I would go out in the most. Dogwood and Little Woodrows are my two favorite bars. The heights is a cool to go out in as well (shoutout Lincoln Bar)
  • Not a lot of great running spots, I did most of my runs on the 3 mile loop at memorial park.
  • If you don't have a car already I would recommend getting one.
  • DO NOT GO TO GALVESTON, you're welcome
  • Whataburger is great if you are into fast food
  • Prepare mentally to hear a lot of people talk about the Texans/Cowboys
