Living on the same block as your office

I found a nice apt on the block of my office in NY. Is it a bad idea to take it? I'd love the  convenience, but would it be too close for comfort? I can literally see the office from the window, and I'm not sure if that's the best for a WLB.

I think it depends on the location of your office and your hours.

If you have very heavy hours and it’s in FiDi, maybe it would be a very good idea.

If you have light hours and the office is in Midtown East, I think it would be better to live in the East Village.

Nonsense bro. Being able to go home and actually cook a lunch if you want (or rub one out) is a fantastic perk of living that close to work.

That said I'm an out of site out of mind person. Dont think Id also want my office looming next to me, but 3 blocks away? wouldnt care.

Literally same block? Hell no. Harder to compartmentalize. Also What happens if you gotta interview somewhere else, call in sick, then HR Karen sees you dressed in suit and tie ?

3 blocks minimum

Bro if I worked IB M&A hours, the same building would be rockstar. Imagine how dope taking the same elevator to your place would be. 100% would do it for 100hr weeks. Large plus if building has a gym / pool.
