Your long term earnings and career opportunities are going to be much higher in NYC. London is the capital of a decaying country. Doesn't mean there aren't opportunities but the ability to thrive long term is going to be severely limited, where as in your 30s there will be an abundance of opportunity to have a comfortable life making $300-$500k in NYC. London seems to cap out around 200k GBP all-in which with their tax situation and cost of living is not going to get you very far.

Nyc is better but just to be clear taxes are about even in both places (feel free to look this up).

100% agree with above post. While enjoyable for a holiday, London is not all that for young professionals. Not only from a comp perspective… Fewer firms, smaller teams, means fewer opportunities to lateral as well as a smaller network. Amsterdam and Zurich might honestly be better places to be post-Brexit if you wish to be located in Europe. Milan (!) offers some attractive tax incentives and a great lifestyle. New York City is ideal but if you need a work visa it can be a nightmare.

NYC = 99%

London = 0%
