Make Twitter Great Again
Regardless of what you think about Trump’s tweeting habits, there’s no denying that he’s attracted a lot of publicity for the company. The way he reaches the nation is akin to FDR’s direct communication with American's through his fireside chats. However, despite adopting the 140 character tweets as his chosen form of personal communication, it isn’t really helping Twitter as they get constant media attention, but their stock price remains pitiful.
as has been made clear by Twitter’s recent results and its battered stock price, there is a clear distinction between publicity and profitability. Monthly active-user growth continues to slow. Twitter is still losing money under generally accepted accounting principles. It has had constant churn in the C-suite and, in October, said that it would slash 9% of its workforce.
If Trump can't make Twitter great again, what should the company look to do in the future?
