Managing NYC Social Life as an Intern

Hello everyone, incoming summer analyst in S&T here. I have never been to NYC before and would love some recommendations on what to do for fun!

A few general goals for the summer:

  • I want to meet people my age since I do not know anyone in the city yet. Are there any good bars, clubs, social events, or venues you would recommend? Any advice for finding friends or dates?

  • I also want to try cool restaurants and foods I cannot get back home. The only spot I currently have on my list is Katz’s, so I would really appreciate any other suggestions that fit an intern budget.

  • I would like to explore interesting neighborhoods and visit iconic locations around the city. I also hope to explore the museums, attend comedy shows, etc. Any cool spots that I can't miss?

Any general advice is welcome as well. I know the hours can be long, but I am planning to make the most of the experience. Thanks for your help!

Get close with your intern class, go to all the welcome events at the beginning of the summer, make friends w/ people from different teams. Talk to other interns when you go to bars, you will naturally click with some and grab their ig / number to make plans to hang out
